Crocheted blankets

Something new on my hook ;)

Hello lovelies,

How are you? Woooow we are July1 already…time flies… 2014 is half gone and I am half done with my Crochet Mood Blanket 2014.

1

Here it is from January1 (up-left light purple) till June30 (down-right blue turquoise) 😀 Wooow! I am really happy to be up to date with it 🙂 It makes me proud, happy and makes my heart sing with joy.

2

See? Not so many dark and grey days! Hope that the second half will be as happy as this first 🙂

2'

I am pleased with it even though it will be BIG very BIG . The first half is 120 x 145 cm. So the final blanket will be 145 x 240 cm 😀

And I started also something new…

3

Well, I am unravelling an wip and crocheting a new one… Remember my Vintage Stripy Blanket? Well, I decided to unravel it because I was not pleased with its sides …they were not straight and it was bothering me … A LOT… So, I decided to unravel it and with every row unravelled crochet a row in a new Vintage-V-blanket 🙂

4

I love the colors. That’s why I am keeping them as they are…unravelling from here…crocheting there 🙂

6

And I am falling madly deeply in love with this V-stitch blanket 🙂 It is addictive…and once you start you can not leave your hook anymore 😉

5

I drew a small chart to show you how I am working on it. You can find online if you google: Crochet V stitch many patterns, charts and videos too…but here is my own “version” with less “holes” 🙂 and I am really pleased with it.

7

I am working this blanket with a 4.5mm hook and a yarn similar to the Stylecraft special DK but a little thicker. It is called Nako Vizon. A 100% acrylic yarn 🙂

If you have time and are wondering what to crochet, I really advise you to try the V-stitch. It is totally addictive easy and fast to crochet 🙂 You’ll be totally hooked 🙂

Have a super day!

It’s all about crochet…

When people ask me what do I do in my spare time and I answer crochet… they look at me in a strange way… Here in my country crochet is something “old fashioned”…

Well if crochet is an old fashion activity then I am “old fashioned” and proud to be 😀

Good morning lovely people around the globe… I am very happy to be with you today and to share my latest wips 😉 You are the only one to understand me and my crazy addiction 🙂

1

I am back to my Crochet Mood Blanket 2014 and I was so behind with my squares but today I crocheted June11’s square and that made me very happy 😀

2

This blanket is very special and I love it… Looking at it brings back memories and I really put my heart into crocheting each square of it 🙂

3

I felt in love with this idea to make each day of 2014 a square depending on your mood and even though I did not 100% stick to it I still choose the color of my square depending on how I feel 🙂

4

I am back also to my Vintage Stripy Blanket. Crocheting these colorful stripes calm me in the evening after a rough day… they take my stress away and I love adding one row each evening to this beauty 🙂

5

Call me crazy but I started also another granny square bedspread for our room 🙂 Yes I am crazy but granny squares with a black border was on my to-do list from long ago and I simply love them. They have a vintage sweet look that I adore 🙂 I am crocheting this new blanket with a thicker yarn (100% acrylic Nako Vizon yarn) than my granny with white bedspread…so a 4 rounds -square is big as a 6 rounds-square on the white one… This new bedspread will be for winter 😉

6

I’ll crochet it with these 35 colors and the black for the last round 🙂

Thank you dear friend for visiting today,

it is always a pleasure having you here!

Kisses and love

Here are some technical infos for you between the pics:

* Yarn: Mirage (a 100% acrylic yarn). I don’t know exactly how much yarn I used because I used mostly scraps and 3 balls of 100g of white. I think it is a total of 10 balls of 100g each or maybe a little bit less…

* Hook: 3.5mm

* Square: A 6 rounds (the last one in white) traditional granny square. You can find its graphic HERE!

* Joining: I joined my squares with the last white round as-I-go. You can find more about this joining method in Lucy’s wonderful blog HERE!

* Dimensions: Appr. 240×100 cm with a total of 128 squares

* Edging: Clusters of 3dc (as for the square) but with a picot between the clusters instead of 1 chain. (To make the picots, I crochet 3chain and then 1 sc in the first chain). I love this simple edging and keep using it 🙂

Colors make me happy

Good morning dear friends,

How are you? Hope that everything is OK and that you are surrounded by rainbows and colors everyday 🙂

Lat week was a colorful one in my small part of the world…

1

I’ve added more colorful washi tape and my collection is slowly growing 😉

2

I’ve played with my clover pompom making and enjoyed a lot these little colorful balls of yarn. Let me tell you something this clover thingy is totally addictive… so easy to make pompom that you feel like you want to add pompom everywhere around your house 🙂

3

I’ve made a garland to hide a little bit my hubby’s stereo (which I don’t like but he does 😉 )…

4

In this pic you can see it more clearly 🙂 Now, with the pompoms I don’t have a problem looking at it anymore 😀 hahaha…Crossing my fingers that hubby doesn’t read my posts 😀

5

Some new colorful flowers bought from the local market made me very happy too 🙂 I love fresh flowers…

6

I’m still not done with my granny blanket… joining a square every time I have a spare moment…

7

Still have 7 squares to add and then the edging…

8

Talking about edgings this book is great… I’m trying some of its borders but I have a feeling, a deep inside feeling, that finally I will make a very simple one … We’ll see 🙂

Have to go now my friend,

Some homely chores are waiting for me …

Wishing you love, sunshine and colors 🙂

Granny squares love

There is something about granny squares I can not resist… when I see a pic on the net or on the TV of a granny squares blanket I feel like my heart is beating furiously and I feel the urge to crochet one myself… It is like a kind of drug or something … the granny squares love… it hits you and you can not resist the temptation of starting something similar….

1

That’s what happened to me the day I started this granny squares blanket… It was the urge to crochet … just crochet grannies without something particular in mind… just a blanket of grannies surrounded with white… for whom? for which room? No idea… just a granny squares blanket and nothing else…

And then I began slowly but surely crocheting these squares…

2

One by one… with no previous idea of how big will it become…

3

And it became day after day bigger and bigger…

4

And I was soooo enjoying the hole process that I did not felt bored at all…

5

And I was happy watching the colors melting together in each little square …

6

Each little 5 rounds square was making me happy and in love …

8

And I started to join them as I go using Lucy’s super method (here) … and decided to make them become a summer runner for our bed 🙂

9

And then I made some math counting and decided that I needed 58 more to add….

10

So I crocheted the 58 😉 (the above pic is without them)

7

Now I need to join these 58 and make a good picots edging and I will have the most beautiful granny squares blanket on my bed and I will be the most happy woman on earth 😀 hahahaha

Can’t wait to show you my finished granny squares piece of love 🙂

Have a wonderful week!
